Thank you, Herb! The forum is great fun and education (and I love the trivia) and one gets to know wonderful people! And it's so amazing to learn how many have ties to Germany!

My home computer is acting up so I have to come to work to be able to communicate with the world right now. Nearly forgot your birthday and am unable to say it in German, but like Rogerm, I do wish you the very best of birthdays. Becoming friends with you has become a true honor and a highlight of life for me.

Thank you, Laurie - ditto, and your words are a great honor for me (as were the others' )! BTW, today is Ann Rutledge's birthday, too.

I think I will construct my own ppt and take the aggregate of all your good advice. Who knows, maybe I can get a student(s) interested enough so it is a life long interest as it is for many of us. I will certainly give a plug to the Surratt Society and museum as well as the escape route tour.
Have you yet given your presentation? If - would you mind to share what you finally decided to do, and how things worked out?
Hi Eva. Worked out better than expected and the kids were paying attention and seemed to enjoy it. It was an 11th grade AP history class. I used some example ppts that I found online but wish I had more time to present. The subject is just to rich to get down to a 40 minute talk.

A very happy birthday Eva! Since I am practically your neighbour, do I get the first slice of the birthday cake?

Sorry for the belated birthday wish Eva. I hope you had a wonderful day.

Thank you, Mike - it was a good, quite "normal" day, believe it or not, receiving so many nice "forum" wishes was the best!

Kees - actually you are much closer to a cake I really miss from my childhood/youth days at the Dutch border - Rijstevlaai ("rice pie")!
