Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection Assassination Books - Linda Anderson - 03-20-2014 11:04 AM The Internet Archive has many books available from the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection on the subject of Lincoln's assassination. The books, which consist of "excerpts from newspapers and other sources," cover a wide range of topics such as "Stanton at Bedside," "Funeral Notices," "Burial of John Wilkes Booth," "Southern Reactions," and, of all things, "Astrological Predictions." https://archive.org/index.php RE: Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection Assassination Books - Gene C - 03-20-2014 11:15 AM Thanks Linda, some interesting titles (As if I didn't have enough reading to do ) RE: Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection Assassination Books - Linda Anderson - 03-20-2014 11:42 AM (03-20-2014 11:15 AM)Gene C Wrote: Thanks Linda, some interesting titles I agree, Gene. The book on Seward includes John Lattimer's article, "The Stabbing of Lincoln's Secretary of State on the Night the President Was Shot." https://archive.org/stream/assassinatixxxxxxx00linc#page/n9/mode/2up RE: Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection Assassination Books - BettyO - 03-21-2014 05:37 AM Thanks ever so much, Linda! This collection is priceless! RE: Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection Assassination Books - Gene C - 03-21-2015 10:46 AM It's much more than just books about the assassination! If you haven't checked this site out in a while, or your just looking for something a little different to read.... it's worth another look https://archive.org/details/lincolncollection RE: Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection Assassination Books - STS Lincolnite - 03-27-2015 08:02 PM While attending the Lincoln Colloquium in September, I had the opportunity to visit the Allen County Public Library (in Ft. Wayne, IN) where the collection is held. They have some great items there. There is one particular photo from the Lincoln's photo album that I especially recall - it depicts Tad in a military uniform. He had drawn on the photo (facial hair, belt, and other) to make himself look older and more like a real soldier. Fantastic! Much of this collection was formerly held at the now defunct Lincoln Museum in Ft. Wayne. I am hoping to make a trip back this summer and delve into the collection and do a little research.
