Gettysburg Museum Selling Historical Figures - Linda Anderson - 03-09-2014 06:27 PM GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — "A life-sized animatronic Abe Lincoln is among the historical figures and tableau scenes from a Gettysburg wax museum set to hit the auction block just months after the town celebrated the 150th anniversary of his "Gettysburg Address." "The American Civil War Wax Museum has occupied a prime spot near the center of the battlefield for more than half a century. But it recently underwent an extensive renovation and wants to take a new approach to history. As part of those changes, it is preparing to unload dozens of its historical figures — most made of vinyl, not wax — in what the auctioneer calls a once-in-a-lifetime sale." http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/Gettysburg-wax-museum-selling-historical-figures-5301541.php RE: Gettysburg Museum Selling Historical Figures - KateH. - 03-09-2014 10:59 PM Just what every home needs, Robo-Lincoln. RE: Gettysburg Museum Selling Historical Figures - RJNorton - 03-10-2014 03:57 AM I wonder who bought these wax figures. RE: Gettysburg Museum Selling Historical Figures - BettyO - 03-10-2014 05:40 AM Most of these wax figurines are just plain creepy! I remember our first trip to Gettysburg as a group of Surratt House docents back in 1982. About 8 of us went and yes, we went though the wax museum at Gettysburg. The museum was mainly staffed by college students who had apparently arranged the wax mannequins in strangely hilarious suggestive postures. We were laughing so hard when we left the museum we could hardly stand. We always wondered if anyone got into trouble over that....
