In September of 2012, the Surratt Society fall luncheon featured a program by David Richardson (who may be a member here?). David does outstanding work with stereoviews and colorization of Civil War photos. His PowerPoint program is literally in 3D and color and, as he says, shows the war the way the soldiers saw it. I believe he's based in California, and his website may be CivilWar3D.

Thanks for this. I'll check it out. I wonder what Booth looks like in color.

Laurie -

Thanks so much for the kind words. Yes I am a member of this forum, but don't get over hear as much as I should. Thanks to Roger for letting me know about this message.

I have two Civil War websites. Civil War In 3D and Civil War In Color. Currently we have about 250 colorized images, including all of the conspirators.

The photo's in this article were done by Mads Madsen from Denmark. He works under the name "Zuzah". He is a 19 year old college student that I met online at the end of last year. He offers some of his work for sale on my site on a commission basis.

If you are interested in Civil War colorized images you may also be interested in my Civil War In Color 2014 calendar. As Laurie mentioned in her message I have been doing colorization's for several years and this is our 3rd color calendar. (Just for clarification, these images are ones that I did personally and do not involve Mads Madsen or any other artist).

There is a video on Youtube about our calendar here.

If you want to check out the calendar itself you can do it here.

If you order it direct from our site I will be happy to autograph it, just put a note in with your order.

Thanks for the forum link. It certainly adds another dimension to Booth, especially as a lady's man!

David your photos are wonderful! I'm pretty new to the forum and no idea such quality colorized civil war photos are available. Thanks again to Laurie for posting your links.

Your calendars will make great holiday gifts.

Thanks Anita. Believe it or not we are already working on the 2015 calendar!

If there are any particular individuals you would like to see in color, just let me know.

Thanks to all who recommended David Richardson's http://civilwarin3d.com site. Turns out he lives about an hour from me. The effort he puts into getting the colors right really shows in these great images. I purchased Vol.1 "Civil War in 3D" and the 3D Library of Congress Stereo Card collection. I also bought the 2014 Calendar.

If you sign up as a member there are great discounts and specials.
