RE: Historians uncover details of Lincoln's ties to Council Bluffs - RJNorton - 08-14-2013 04:36 AM According to Ralph Gary's Following in Lincoln's Footsteps Lincoln was also in Burlington, Iowa, on October 9, 1858. Lincoln was there to give a speech at Grimes Hall, and he stayed overnight at the Hudson House. Gary writes that there is also a claim that Lincoln was once in Davenport in 1858. The author implies that claim is unproven. Those three cities are the only ones listed for Iowa. |
