Nice story on a soldier who was present in 1865 when Lincoln was shot -

What a great story-although did it actually say he saw Lincoln shot? I may have missed it.

The soldier did not claim to have seen the assassination but was on sentry duty thereafter with orders to shoot to kill. The article with its depiction of Decoration Day rites and the veteran's own funeral in 1937 is quite fascinating.
