Pine Thicket to Huckleberry - Rhatkinson - 06-25-2013 08:10 PM If you haven't seen Dave's excellent post on bothiebarn.com, go check it out. He walks the path from where B and H left the thicket to Jones' home. As usual with Dave's information, it is most well done. I offered to play the part of JWB and steer when Dave decides to recreate the row across the Potomac. Very "generous" of me I think. It was taken near modern day 15th and Constitution. [attachment=154] RE: Pine Thicket to Huckleberry - asobbingfilm - 06-26-2013 08:07 PM Enjoyed Daves tour from the thicket to HB. If I could weigh in here's a little film that includes some footage shot on the banks of the Potomac looking towards Mathias Point. http://youtu.be/Fa3ySA0jBU8 RE: Pine Thicket to Huckleberry - Dave Taylor - 06-26-2013 08:38 PM David, this is one of yours, yes? It's quite good. I see you went with Jones' account that Booth and Herold crossed on April 21st. I'm still a 20th guy myself. RE: Pine Thicket to Huckleberry - asobbingfilm - 06-26-2013 08:59 PM Yea Dave I just threw that together to follow up your tour. I bribed my way down to the river bank via Loyola some time back. I have a ton of footage that will be in my longer film but didn't have time to get it all out. |
