Let's try one more from Dr. Houmes. Who is this man? (This question could also have been placed in the assassination trivia thread.)

I will try a doc again - was he one?

RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 05-19-2016 03:48 AM

Yes, Eva, he was a doctor. Very good.

RE: Who is this person? - Eva Elisabeth - 05-19-2016 06:59 AM

Dr. C.S. Taft?

RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 05-19-2016 07:35 AM

Excellent try, Eva, but it is not Dr. Taft.

Was he at Lincoln's deathbed or did he claims he was?

Hi, Roger!

Is it Dr. Crane? Purely a guess.

Bob

Brilliant, Bob! Kudos. Yes, the man in the photo is Dr. Charles Henry Crane. He was Assistant Surgeon General and one of the many doctors who was at the Petersen House. He was also present for Lincoln's autopsy at the White House.

Bob, you win best wishes for a wonderful day. Eva, you win the same for being so close.

Blaine, thank you again for sending the photo of Dr. Crane.

Thanks, Roger!

Wonderful days are always special.

By the way, sometime along the way, but I don't remember when or where, I saw a picture of Dr. Crane and for some reason remembered a straight nose and a beard. So I just guessed. Must be my lucky day.

Thanks again and I hope you also have a wonderful day.

Bob

I totally second this!

This person has been mentioned previously on the forum. Some of the streets this person lived on were Kneeland Street, Tyler Street, Hudson Street, Dover Street Place, Albany Street, Pleasant Street, Carver Street, and Mahan Place.

Who is the person?

RE: Who is this person? - Eva Elisabeth - 07-29-2017 02:02 PM

Dover Street Place sounds Britain. Hay?

RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 07-29-2017 02:13 PM

Good try, Eva, but it was not John Hay.

I'm pretty sure I know but I'm going to recuse myself following all the questions about my last trivia question answer yesterday about the Rochester House photo. So I'm just going to leave these extra clues; that is if you can trust somebody that is "pretty sure":

1. All the streets listed are in the same city

2. The person also lived on Bitts Street

3. The present-day name of Dover Street Place is Fay Street

All of can safely say can safely exclude about 10, all in Europe... that leaves approximately some million guesses ..
