RE: Who is this person? - Rob Wick - 08-15-2013 04:45 PM J.J. Woodward? Best Rob RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 08-15-2013 04:52 PM Good guess, Rob, but it's not him. Hint #1: Besides Lincoln he also treated Henry Clay. RE: Who is this person? - Liz Rosenthal - 08-15-2013 06:03 PM Dr. Anson Henry? RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 08-16-2013 04:04 AM That's another good guess, Liz, but it's not Dr. Henry. Hint #2: He also treated Edwin Stanton and William Seward. RE: Who is this person? - BettyO - 08-16-2013 06:36 AM Dr. Verdi? RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 08-16-2013 07:14 AM Yet another good guess, Betty, but it's not him. Hint #3: He was a specialist who dealt with only one part of the body. RE: Who is this person? - Eva Elisabeth - 08-16-2013 07:17 AM Issachar Zacharie? RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 08-16-2013 08:00 AM Terrific, Eva! That is correct! He was was Abraham Lincoln's foot doctor. RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 08-17-2013 02:12 PM In this 1877 photo Robert Lincoln is in the center. Who are the other two men? RE: Who is this person? - J. Beckert - 08-17-2013 06:50 PM I believe the man on the right is Stanton's son (Edwin, Jr.?). I'm drawing a blank on the man on the left, but if I remember correctly, his father was also a prominent man of Lincoln's era. RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 08-18-2013 04:28 AM Joe and Donna, you are both correct. Good job! Both of these sons of Abraham Lincoln's Cabinet members were good friends of Robert's. And in the Lincoln Family Album the authors write, "...when Robert brought his son's body home from England for burial in the Lincoln Tomb, the only person who accompanied him to Oak Ridge was Edgar Welles."
