The second pistol (if we are both referring to the same one) was smaller in size and had JWB's name engraved on it. It certainly was not a "match" to the murder weapon, for sure. This pistol is on display at Ripley's Believe It or Not in NYC. Not a match as to size and caliber but it does have "J. Wilkes Booth" engraved on it. 'derringer' is a noun referring to a very small, concealable handgun. Obviously comes from the original Deringer. 'Deringer' refers only to those pistols made by Henry Deringer. It's used as an adjective - "Deringer pocket pistol" |
