I don't know if I mentioned it previously but the Russell House was torn down in 1905 (if I'm correct).

Ironic that the Detroit area that had welcomed JWB when he performed there had prepared to capture him immediately after the assassination of Lincoln. It was thought that Booth may have planned his escape to Canada- via Detroit. Union troops were on "high alert" along the Michigan coastal areas at Detroit looking for the fleeing JWB. Alas, he had gone south- not north.
