RE: Who is this person? - BettyO - 01-08-2013 06:19 AM Lincoln suffered a head injury? (NOT JWB's gunshot to the head.....) RE: Who is this person? - J. Beckert - 01-08-2013 06:21 AM Kicked by a horse, but I don't remember anyone saving him. RE: Who is this person? - BettyO - 01-08-2013 06:29 AM OK - so Lincoln and Powell had something in common....both kicked in the face/head by a horse or mule! RE: Who is this person? - J. Beckert - 01-08-2013 06:39 AM I cheated, so I'm out, but I think it's funny Lincoln said he was apparently dead "for a while". How he could make fun of an incident like that shows what a great sense of humor he had. RE: Who is this person? - BettyO - 01-08-2013 06:44 AM I saw that same site, Joe. Pretty cool - I've bookmarked it. "Dead for awhile" - yes, a pretty good sense of humor. If Powell ever mentioned his kick, it has gone unrecorded. I assume that he was "dead for awhile as well" as the family told me that he was knocked unconscious (as one would be!) I don't know for how long.... Both kids (Abe and Lew) were kicked when they were about the same age - 10-12 years old.... RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 01-08-2013 10:13 AM Hint #6: I was driving along and noticed the car in front of me was making a left _______. RE: Who is this person? - BettyO - 01-08-2013 10:15 AM Turn? Turner? RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 01-08-2013 10:18 AM You are on the right track. You have the first part of the name right. Hint #7: My wife and I went into a restaurant, and she ordered ____ for dinner. RE: Who is this person? - J. Beckert - 01-08-2013 10:22 AM Turnips fits, but who eats turnips for dinner? This is one of your tougher ones, Roger. RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 01-08-2013 10:26 AM His name was not Thomas Turnips, but you are extremely close. That is not what my wife ordered for her main course. RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 01-08-2013 10:46 AM Hint #8: This meat comes from the kind of animal Lincoln once saved in the mud. RE: Who is this person? - Donna McCreary - 01-08-2013 10:52 AM (08-21-2012 03:26 PM)RJNorton Wrote: Donna, please correct me if I say anything that is incorrect. Actually, the minsiter's name was Rev. James McChord. The church was known as the Market Street Presbyterian Church and now is known as Second Presbyterian. RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 01-08-2013 10:55 AM Hint #9: The correct meat has 3 letters in it and begins with an "h." RE: Who is this person? - J. Beckert - 01-08-2013 11:07 AM Thomas Turnhog. After this, I give up. RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 01-08-2013 11:09 AM Hint #10: The last letter in the meat is an "m." My wife and I are now going out to lunch. I will try to think of more hints at that time. |
