RE: Conspiracy Trial Press Reporters - RJNorton - 03-22-2024 08:10 AM Many thanks to Steve who writes, "I have 3 newspaper articles and 2 pages from a book to post to the forum. They're about William T. Kent and Lawrence A. Gobright finding Booth's pistol in Ford's Theatre and then turning it over to the authorities. The first article is an interview of Kent from page 4 of the 05 Dec. 1891 edition of the Indianapolis Journal. The second article is an interview of Kent from pages 1 and 2 of the 12 Feb. 1909 edition of the San Francisco Call. The third article is an interview of Kent from page 11 of the 14 April 1916 edition of the Washington Evening Star The two pages describe the same event and come from Gobright's 1869 book "Recollection of Men and Things at Washington During the Third of a Century" Please note that the 3 newspaper article images actually come from Dave Taylor's website and not something I found myself. I just thought it would be helpful for people to compare them together with the pages of Gobright's book describing the same event. I was inspired to post them by Dave's review of the first episode of the Manhunt TV series. Link to Gobright's book: https://archive.org/details/recollectionofme00ingobr/page/348/mode/2up |
