I am against death penalty in general, but I find her guilty of conspiracy and not reporting whatever she knew to the police (even if she had only known of kidnapping it should have led to police taking action to prevent) - so, from the point of US law that applies here - I think this was in "Blood on the Moon" but don't remember exactly, wouldn't participating (actively or passively) in kidnapping the president also "provide" the option of death penalty? Most of the lawyers on the case were hoping to divide the evidence according to two conspiracies -- one to kidnap (which might have spared Mary) and a different one to assassinate. |
