I hope to catch most Lincoln related events until the 16th and then head out for an epic road. I'd love to meet people from this board who plan to attend. Let the countdown begin. In case anyone is wondering, I'll be the kid in the Sports Authority collapsible chair on 10th Street during the vigil. And yes, I have only general admission tickets as well - but I managed to snag one for the exhibit which you can only view when you make a reservation for an audio tour. I think it's at 5am... RE: Ford's150 Information - Susan Higginbotham - 02-18-2015 12:28 PM I couldn't remember whether my ticket included the audio tour, so I bought another one just in case (at 5 a.m.). I can't wait to meet people who are on this board - I feel like I'm taking a college class every time I come here to read what you are all debating. And meeting some of you would be a such a gift! I thought 3 days in D.C. would be plenty; now I am not so sure anymore... RE: Ford's150 Information - LincolnToddFan - 02-19-2015 09:20 PM There should be an "I WISH I WAS GOING, POUTING 'CAUSE I CAN'T"! category. That would be yours truly. RE: Ford's150 Information - Thomas Kearney - 02-24-2015 05:45 PM Was fortunate enough to secure an old handbook of fords theater when it was the Lincoln museum. I will bring it with me to the Lincoln Tribute. I am working on a category like the one you suggested LincolnToddFan RE: Ford's150 Information - LincolnMan - 02-24-2015 08:23 PM Would love to attend but personal situation prevents. For those going- please share with the Forum the experience for those, like me, who can't. I'd love to see some pictures of the chair Lincoln died in outside of its case. http://www.thehenryford.org/events/lincoln150.aspx EDIT: I just saw that the Doris Kearns Goodwin event is sold out. However on April 15th, admission to the museum will be free, the chair will still be in a special display and you could receive a free souvenir program, including a map designating Lincoln-related artifacts on exhibit. I'd love to know all the Lincoln things they have on display. RE: Ford's150 Information - LincolnMan - 02-24-2015 08:50 PM Let me look into that! RE: Ford's150 Information - Angela - 02-27-2015 06:45 AM I have gone through the long list of events at Ford's and there are two things that look very intriguing but are, as of now, limited to members. Tickets for non-members go on sale a week later. One is "Now He Belongs to the Ages: A Lincoln Commemoration" and the other "Midnight Tour with James Swanson". What do you all think - will there be a chance to get tickets for non-members? Or is it advised to call ahead and offer the first-born? RE: Ford's150 Information - LincolnMan - 03-01-2015 05:46 PM I have cleared my work schedule for April 15th to attend the Henry Ford Museum observance regarding the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's death. The Ford's Theater rocker will be on special display that day. This is a must-see. It will be out of it's sealed case. This is once in a lifetime.
