RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 02-22-2019 05:04 AM Lord Charnwood? RE: Who is this person? - Eva Elisabeth - 02-22-2019 07:44 AM I cannot see/open the image. This is all I get: [attachment=3031] RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 02-22-2019 07:54 AM Eva, very early this morning I had the same problem. I tried several times, and finally on about the 5th attempt, the image opened. I was worried it might not open again, so I copied it to my hard drive. Just now I uploaded it to my server and will post for anyone having problems seeing the photo. RE: Who is this person? - Rob Wick - 02-22-2019 12:15 PM That's odd, because it shows up clearly on my screen. Thanks for doing that, Roger. That's a good guess, but it isn't Lord Charnwood. Clue #1. He was NOT an academic, but he had their respect. Best Rob RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 02-22-2019 01:46 PM Dale Carnegie? RE: Who is this person? - Rob Wick - 02-22-2019 03:09 PM Sorry Roger, but it's not him either. Best Rob RE: Who is this person? - RJNorton - 02-22-2019 03:51 PM Emil Ludwig? RE: Who is this person? - Gene C - 02-22-2019 03:52 PM Is this person an author of a book on Lincoln? RE: Who is this person? - Rob Wick - 02-22-2019 04:41 PM Roger, it's not Ludwig. Gene, he has written on Lincoln-related topics, but not a biography. Best Rob RE: Who is this person? - L Verge - 02-22-2019 04:43 PM Is/was he considered an author or a journalist? RE: Who is this person? - Anita - 02-22-2019 05:06 PM Was he in the political arena? RE: Who is this person? - Rob Wick - 02-22-2019 05:43 PM Laurie, he certainly was an author. Anita, no to the political arena. Clue #2. Carl Sandburg once called him a "fuddy duddy." Best Rob RE: Who is this person? - Steve - 02-22-2019 05:58 PM F. Lauriston Bullard RE: Who is this person? - Rob Wick - 02-22-2019 07:37 PM It is Bullard. My next two clues were going to be 1)He wrote about a family that had a connection to the television show "The Incredible Hulk." (Bill Bixby and the Bixby letter), and 2)he was a book thief (per the attached article). I was going to stay away from his winning the Pulitzer Prize for editorial commentary as I knew that would give it away.
